Steven Martin joined GE in October, 2016, as Vice President and Chief Digital Officer for GE.
With the goal of developing end-to-end software and cloud solutions to support GE customers’ digitization efforts, Steven is responsible for leading and advancing the business’s transversal digital industrial strategy. This includes the activation of product, service and solution roadmaps, and designing new customer experiences and business models.
Prior to joining GE, Steven spent fourteen years at Microsoft and was most recently the general manager and chief data scientist for Azure. In this role, Steven was responsible for global operations, customer acquisition and billing, analytics and data science, as well as the underlying data platform for services management. He was responsible for core business growth of over 100% year over year for five consecutive years. He also served as the chief data scientist for the Cloud and Enterprise Division.
Steven previously held several other roles at Microsoft with increasing responsibility, including General Manager of Business Planning and Strategy, Senior Director Business Operations, Server and Tools Division, the director of Product Management for Microsoft’s Platform Middleware, .NET and App Servers where he drove market share growth from 22% to over 70% and over $4 billion in revenue, and group product manager for E-Business.Prior to Microsoft, Steven held product management and marketing roles with other tech-related businesses. Steven holds a BS in Behavioral Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and is an ongoing student of Behavioral Economics.

Jim’s career is marked by a long history of software experience and expertise. In 2011, Jim’s role was expanded to Global Business Leader overseeing automation, manufacturing and industrial data intelligence software along with global professional services. Jonathan O’Sullivan has spent over 20 years working in the electricity industry in the planning, operation and markets design. In this time he has developed an acknowledged expertise in the theoretical modelling of the system, the necessary practical operation practices and the requirements for a well designed and functional market. In recent years Jonathan has been central to the implementation of the first electricity market in Ireland in 2000, the first all island market in 2007, the development of the “Delivering a Secure sustainable power system” (DS3) programme which will deliver the secure and reliable operation of the Ireland and Northern Ireland power system with unprecedented levels of wind electricity by 2020.
His current role in EirGrid, the transmission system operator in Ireland and Northern Ireland, is Manager Innovation. Through this Jonathan drives general innovation in the group as well as specific technology strategies which include DS3, distributed power flow control devices, solar and storage. To do this Jonathan’s team need to consider the future needs of the power system and envisage how these multiple technology strategies may interact at scale. These considerations require technical, economic and government policy considerations.Jonathan is an active member of ENTSO-E, the European association of TSO, where he contributes to working groups and committees on innovation, research, markets and renewables, long term market design and TSO-DSO interaction.

Bryan Friehauf is the Vice President – Digital Product Management for the Asset Management portfolio in GE’s Grid Solutions business. In this role he is responsible for leading the global business strategy and execution for the Asset Management product line. Bryan has 24 years experience in diverse positions throughout various industries from maintenance and engineering organizations to consulting businesses.
Bryan has also served as a Business Unit CIO at IBM and Xcel Energy, Inc. with responsibilities such as managing all IT products and services that support gas and electric trading, risk management and settlements businesses, corporate financial operations, human resources, and electric generation business units. Control Systems & Automation Manager, UK Power NetworksJohn Duller is Control Systems and Automation Manager at UK Power Networks, having joined the electricity industry 32 years ago. He has wide experience in a variety of roles, including acting as Network Manager for the East of England and London electricity distribution networks. John managed the initial development and deployment of automation in London. In 2011 he set up a new team to manage the control, SCADA and automation systems for UK Power Networks. He delivered the London PowerOn Control System project, which was introduced in time for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In 2015 he completed the implementation and full deployment of algorithmic Adaptive Power Restoration System on the London Network, followed by the East of England and South East networks in 2016. In 2017 PowerOn Mobile was deployed and John is presently working on automating restoration following an EHV outage and moving the low voltage system to PowerOn.

Gillian has worked in the Utility and Telecom OSS and BSS markets for over twenty years, both delivering integrated and automated solutions and also bringing products to market which underpin these solutions, working with the GE product suite.
During this time, Gillian has worked in the Realworld group twice first both as a CTO and now also the CEO of the UK company. Prior to this, Gillian worked in Business Development for Smallworld, founded the Telecoms group and established the current inventory product suite. Previously led the development of the User Interfaces for Network Management Systems (NMS). As product development manager, serves as technical lead for the e-terravision product—a UI product specifically focusing on decision support systems and situational awareness for the NMS control room operator and analysts. The e-terravision product brings together information from multiple systems, such as the current system state, system state due to contingencies, wind forecasts, and lightning strikes. Transmission Segment leader - EMS, MMS and WAMS, GEJean-Marc has over 25 years' experience in the development, delivery and support of Energy Management Systems, along with solid experience in the electricity Market Management System (MMS), Energy Telecom and Distribution Management System (DMS) fields. He joined Cegelec / Alstom (now GE Grid Solutions) in 1990 as an EMS software engineer and has since obtained expert knowledge and experience across Telecom and Control Systems for the power industry. He has also managed international teams in Operations, Software and Support and is a frequent invited technical speaker at international industry events including IEEE's Power Engineering Society and Electricity Power Control Center conferences. Senior Product Manager - PowerOn Advantage ADMS, GEAlison Page is a Senior Product Manager for the PowerOn Advantage ADMS product line, specialising in outage management systems. She interacts with utility customers globally to create products for the operational management of distribution electricity networks. Alison graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Edinburgh University and continues to reside in Edinburgh while based at GE’s Livingston office in UK. She has a background in technical authoring and product training before joining the product management team.
WAMS Technology Leader, GEManu Parashar has has been involved in the Research and Development activities of GE’s Stability Solutions, including synchrophasor applications for the past 8 years, and has been the Technical Lead in delivering these applications to the North American customers. Prior to joining GE, he was with Electric Power Group where he was responsible for all synchrophasor related research & development initiatives, including leading the development of the real time and offline synchrophasor applications. Mark has been in several roles during his 20 year career with GE. In his current role, Mark is Presales Solution Architect helping customers achieving the fast-changing business challenges with GE products such as Smallworld Asset Management, APM and Predix Studio.Before joining GE, Mark worked for Philips Research, Ordina and served in the Dutch Army. Mark has a bachelor degree in Telecommunications and Electrical Engineering. Mark is passionate about cars and more specific: electric cars. In his free time, Mark enjoys kick boxing and playing golf.
Global Commercial Operations Leader - GE DigitalDamien is the Global Tendering Manager – Energy Connections, for GE Digital. He joined the Digital Energy software solutions business 2008, as the Regional Commercial Director for Smallworld, covering the EMEAI region. After this role Damien was promoted to lead Software Segment in EMEA, and more recently was the Regional Commercial Director for Software Solutions in EMEA. Prior to joining Digital Energy he was the UK Marketing and Services leader of GE Capital’s Equipment Services business. Before joining GE in 2002 Damien had a number of senior commercial roles in Nortel Networks, and BMW Group. Damien is a native of Kenilworth, Warwickshire. He holds an MBA from Leicester University and a BA in Geography from Leeds University.
Sr Product Manager - Distributed Energy Resources, GE
Frédéric Wauquiez is Sr Product Manager Distributed Energy Resources in GE Grid Software Solutions, defining strategy and roadmap for GE DERM product, designed to help utilities adress the challenges of the DER disruption. Since 2012, Frédéric led the operational and financial setup of innovative Smart Grid pilot projects, and brought key contribution to the packaging, marketing and selling of the Smart Grid solutions that came out of these projects. Frédéric received an Alstom Grid “Alstar” recognition in 2014 in relation to these works.Frédéric has a background of 19 years’ experience in international B2B Business Development, in the Space, Telecom infrastructure, Energy Efficiency and Power Grid domains, with positions in tendering management, marketing, business development, solution management and entrepreneurship. A power solution and service line that he co-founded for telecom networks in areas with poor electricity supply received European Commission’s Sustainable Energy Europe prize in 2010.
Product Line Manager, GEJames has been with GE 19 years. He joined Smallworld in 1998 – following completion of his doctorate, in GIS, at University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK. During his time at GE, James has worked in both pre and post sales roles in the telecommunications business. He has been Telecoms Product Manager since 2002. In this role his primary responsibility is to work with the customer base, understand the market conditions and translate that into the product roadmap. James now holds the role Product Line Manager for Smallworld Telecoms, meaning he is responsible for all aspects of product management relating to the Smallworld telecoms software.
